I stand very small at 4'11', and even smaller when I'm sitting in a wheelchair, which I often have to because of my illness - Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I distract myself from my condition by knitting, sewing and crocheting, which are things this blog is all about. I hope you enjoy your time here and come again for my next post!

New blog post alert! (Link in bio, need I say it) I’ve written a little something something about why I’ve been so absent recently, and why I’ve decided to focus on my blog more. I hope you understand, thank you for your support as always! Swipe across to see lovely little Otto deciding to get involved 🐱
Today I’m taking up the sleeves on this really cute blouse I got from a charity shop recently, and replacing the buttons on another RTW top with these (much prettier) vintage buttons 🧵 ___________________________________________ #secondhandclothing #upcycledclothing #memade #handmadewardrobe #fashrev #clothingcare #curatedcloset
🥳Announcement! 🥳⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Today I am launching my new visible mending service over at @clothingcareco - Darn It! Please head to the link in my bio to read all about it, I’d really appreciate it ♥️ Sorry I haven’t been very active recently, I’ve been working hard to make sure that everything’s been ready for the launch of Darn It! ⁣⁣ 🧵 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #visiblemending #sustainablefashion #sashiko #handembroidery #patchingservice #mending #makedoandmend #clothingcareco #darnit
One of my resolutions this year is to read more, and share what I’ve read! So this is my to read pile, and once I’ve finished a book I’m going to post it on my story and add it to my highlights so that I can look back on what I’ve read at the end of the year. Any fiction recommendations?
I’m back! Sorry about my little unplanned hiatus, but it’s what I needed and I’m back and ready to get involved in Instagram and sharing things all over again! Winter is always a bit tricky for my joints and whatnot, but my head decided that it needed a little break too. Sorry if I haven’t replied to messages and comments, it’s all a bit overwhelming so I’m going to try and ease myself back in! I hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas/ break from work/ general festive period, and I can’t wait to get back to scrolling through my feed! (I’ve already posted this photo a couple of times but I thought it was relevant - so I hope you don’t mind the repeat!)
Forever sitting on tables to try and take a good photo! Here’s a sneaky peek of this month’s @sewhayleyjane make (spoiler - it’s another @tillybuttons pattern) and it’s a solid colour! Yay for Hayley’s box reminding me that I told myself at the end of me Made May that I needed to make more solid colours... I’d completely forgotten about that plan! ⁣ ⁣ ♥️⁣ ⁣ #sewhayleyjane #sewhayleyjanemakes #tillybuttons #tatb #sewingwithjersey #memadeeveryday #handmadewardrobe #secretpyjamas
I made a jazzy @tillybuttons Freya top out of some Albatoffe jersey from the wonderful @likesewamazing - head over to her blog to read all about it and shop the fabric! (Don’t worry, the shoulders do fit properly, I just moved funny in the second photo)⁣ ⁣ 🧵⁣ ⁣ #likesewamazing #tatb #tatbfreya #stretchsewingbook #memade #memadeveryday #slowfashion #handmadewardrobe
My September @sewhayleyjane make is up on her blog now! The most delightfully autumnal fabric ever? I think so 🍂
I’m on the @lovetosew.podcast this week! I’m too nervous to listen - but I hope you enjoy it, I had a lovely time recording it! (Look how short my hair was in this photo! I’m glad it’s grown since then 😱)
Doing some work on this jumper for #menditmonth - thank you so much to @fredshaberdashery for setting me up with the perfect deep red to match, and that contrasting coral for the holes on the collar! Check out my other page, @clothingcareco for some more mending inspiration 🌱
I finally made something new! I made this shirt from a vintage pattern (Style 2561 I do believe!) based on a little shirt I had when I was a baby - if you remember me doing #thesewbackproject last year, it was based on that! I’ll be running the project again next April 😁
I’m running mend it month this year! Go over to @clothingcareco to read the blog post explaining the idea, and the prompts for each week of November 🌿 . . . _________________________________ #menditmonth #mending #visiblemending #sustainablefashion
Long time no see! I’ve been on my pain management course for two weeks now, and I’m really missing my sewing machine (and my own bed!) one week to go though, and I’ll be able to sew to my heart’s content ✂️ Today though, my newest post is up on the @sewhayleyjane blog! I made an ironing board cover (and included a really simple tutorial so that you can make one too!) out of this month’s very homely fabric 🏠
I’ve been enjoying doing a lot of visible mending lately in the run up to offering a new mending service over on @clothingcareco - I’m not sure yet how exactly it’ll be run, but I’ve been really enjoying patching up holes, tears and general catastrophes on clothes and making them wearable again. I’m hoping to start my new visible mending service (and maybe online class in the future - who knows!) in the next couple of months once I’ve built up a nice collection of photos, but here are a couple of really simple ones I’ve finished today 👍 ____________________________________________ #visiblemending #clothingcare #sashikomending #lovedclotheslast #sustainableclothing
#sewphotohop Day 6 - Seasonal Favourite - Autumn is my favourite season, but it’s probably (definitely) the least represented season in my wardrobe! I’ve just posted a blog post (link in bio) on my top 5 autumn sewing patterns, so have a look at that if you’d like to read more about what I’ll be making this season! This not so sneaky peek of my just finished make a @ninaleelondon Kew Dress with @minervacrafts fabric, and my post will be up on their lovely blog at some point 👍 ____________________________________ #sewphotohop2018 #autumnfashion #ninaleekewdress #kewdress #minervacrafts #williammorris #memadeeveryday
#sewphotohop Day 5 - Sewing corner - I’m lucky enough to have commandeered a whole room of the house for sewing (although that doesn’t seem to stop fabrics and patterns from spreading out into other rooms), so for day 5 I thought I’d show you my favourite corner of my sewing room - complete with fake ivy and, if you swipe across, some vintage notions ✂️ ____________________________________ #sewphotohop2018 #vintagesewing #suzielondon #sewingcorner #sewingroom
#sewphotohop Day 4 - Signature look - I’m sure you’re all bored of seeing them now, but it’s got to be my @tillybuttons marigold trousers! I have four different pairs (and counting) but these ones made from @atelierbrunette fabric which I got from fellow Harriet at @sewmesunshine.uk and paired with my @joanieclothing top has got to be one of my all time favourite outfits! Although I do also wear my SOI Rosie dress a lot (swipe across to see that), so I’ll be making a few more of those too! ___________________________________________ #tillybuttons #sewingmarigold #tatb #memadeeveryday #sewphotohop2018
#sewphotohop Day 3 - All in one or separates? I do sew a lot of all in one things (I’m prone to making lots of dresses and I’m on a jumpsuit kick at the moment), but really on a normal day I’ll always be reaching for separates - I’m making a real effort at the moment to sew clothes that I’m actually going to wear on a day to day basis, so I’ll be making all the separates! (I’m wearing the @sewoveritlondon ultimate shirt and ultimate trousers in this photo) ________________________________________________ #sewphotohop2018 #soishowoff #soiultimatetrousers #soiultimateshirt #memadeeveryday
